Project description
In Poland, the system of developmental cooperation is not sufficiently transparent and effective. The Polish official developmental assistance remains low, and the national regulating strategic documents in this policy area are not professionally prepared. The voice of non-governmental organisations active in this field fails to be properly heard by the decision-makers.
The long-term aim of the project was to improve the transparency and the effectiveness of the developmental cooperation system in Poland, and in particular the conditions for functioning of non-governmental organisations active in this field.
As a result of the project, relevant provisions were introduced in the strategic documents on the Polish developmental assistance and cooperation that can lead to enhancing the quality of the Polish developmental assistance, and a declaration from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was obtained that the official developmental assistance would reach the level of 0.33% GDP by the year 2030.
Under the project activities, social consultations were coordinated on the draft of the Multiannual Programme for Developmental Cooperation and project activists participated in the meetings of the Programme Council for Developmental Cooperation. The organisation conducted an ongoing monitoring of public institutions in the field of developmental cooperation, and its results were presented in two annual reports on the Polish developmental assistance. Under the project, a comprehensive analysis was conducted of school textbooks as to their contents concerning global education. The Internet page was maintained of the Foreign Group, as well as profiles in social media.
The project activities benefited mainly the non-governmental organisations gathered in the Foreign Group, and also other non-governmental organisations active in this field, public administration, MPs and media.
