Project description
The project was not completed. Its objective was to conduct public consultations of the Łódź revitalization program. The Institute of Urban Development estimates that as much as 20 per cent of urban areas in Poland have been degraded. It’s true that urban blight is apparent in various cities, but it is particularly visible in Łódź.

The local government pursues the revitalization project driven by a program adopted by the municipal council. Łódź’s previous strategic document - the Local Revitalization Program adopted for the years 2004-2013 - has expired. The Foundation was determined to tie the work of experts on the new program with wide-ranging public consultations.
The project partner was the City of Łódź accountable for preparedness of the revitalization program. The Foundation committed itself to deliver public consultations with citizens and stakeholders, i.e. representatives of cultural and social animation circles, the labour market, the real estate market and players active on the social support scene.
Consultations eventually did not take place, mainly as a result of a considerable delay in efforts on the strategic document which was to be discussed. Nevertheless, the Foundation developed the consultation methodology and mapped its stakeholders. The project was not completed, but the Foundation is certain that reports available on the website naszarewitalizacja.pl may become a source of inspiration for people who take interest in urban policies.
