Project description
According to the data from the County Program of Prevention and Solving Alcohol Problems and Drug Addiction Prevention Tarnowskie Góry in 2013 there were 800 persons suffering the consequences of addiction registered. The given number does not reflect the real situation and it concerns exclusively the persons, who applied for help at the aid institutions. The situation of the people at risk of social exclusion is a subject of care mainly of the City Social Welfare Center, which provides emergency assistance, but does not react to specific needs of the persons applying for help.
The goal of the project was to counteract exclusion of people aged 25 - 35 addicted to psychoactive substances through founding of the Reintegration Center which offers a professional support in overcoming the addictions and building skills allowing for running individual life activity.
16 persons have completed the program of the Reintegration Center and they have taken up active social life.
Street work activities of educational and motivational character have been conducted in the places of residence of the addicted persons (2 persons, 120 duties 2 hours each). Contact with 68 persons was initiated: 10 of them were sent for a detoxification in a hospital ward, 6 - started treatment in the stationary system in public intuitions, 13 – came through a therapy in the Reintegration Center. 20 persons benefited from the Center’s offer. Various therapeutic activities (including 84 hours of psycho-educational workshops) were run 3 times a week (6 hours, 2 therapists), duties of psychiatrists were held (74 consultations for 20 persons, 73 hours of the participants’ observation) and psychologist (40 diagnostic interviews for 20 participants; psychological support for 9 persons). Other methods have been employed, as well: of therapeutic society and of social learning, which allowed for building everyday life skills and living in a group.
75 young adults addicted to psychoactive substances from Tarnów County have benefited from the project’s activities.
