The Project strived to collate information on how council-owned premises are currently provided to non-governmental organizations and make this data publicly accessible. These initiatives were meant to prompt implementation of changes beneficial for both non-governmental organizations and the city: transparent principles to be followed by non-government organizations to lease council-owned property.
Konin City Hall committed itself to collaborate on development of rules and regulations for lending council-owned premises to non-governmental organizations; released guidelines describing terms and conditions to be met by applications for the lease of council-owned property; introduced modifications to the 2016 program for cooperation with NGOs in terms of the lending of premises. Non-governmental organization embarked on efforts to develop a draft version of rules and regulations for lending council-owned premises, driven by project-generated resources.
While efforts continued, 140 contracts made by Konin City Hall and non-governmental organizations were analyzed, 50 questionnaire surveys were conducted among non-governmental organizations, a legal analysis was completed and feedback was received during two meetings with citizens, representatives of NGOs and local authorities. Collated data contributed to development of a report that describes how premises owned by the municipal authorities are provided to non-governmental organization and highlights recommendations for changes. The website akcjakonin.pl/lokale-ngo/ went live to become a platform for publishing communication about available premises, including additional resources for organizations applying for such premises, the map of council-owned facilities, info about the available real estate resources and the current offer of the Non-Governmental Organizations Centre.
A briefing brochure presenting current terms and conditions as well as recommended changes was disseminated.
Activities benefited non-governmental organizations, Konin City Hall, and citizens.
